COATSOME ME-8181 (DOPE), or 1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, is a ≥99% pure synthetic phospholipid. Featuring C18:1 fatty acids (18 carbon atoms, 1 double bond, oleic acid) at both the sn-1 and sn-2 positions, DOPE provides a small phosphoethanolamine headgroup, promoting membrane curvature and facilitating membrane fusion in lipid-based formulations.

DOPE is suitable for liposomal and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations requiring high membrane flexibility, and supports the development of advanced drug delivery systems requiring enhanced membrane fusion or endosomal escape. Manufactured using highly purified fatty acids, ME-8181 offers consistent quality for pharmaceutical research and clinical applications.
