COATSOME MC-8181 (DOPC), or 1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, is a ≥99% pure synthetic phospholipid. Composed of C18:1 fatty acids (18 carbon atoms, 1 double bond, oleic acid) at both the sn-1 and sn-2 positions, DOPC offers exceptional membrane fluidity and flexibility, making it highly suitable for liposomal and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations that require dynamic membrane behavior.
With a phase transition temperature (Tc) of approximately -18°C, DOPC remains in a fluid phase across physiological and ambient temperatures, providing high membrane flexibility that can facilitate membrane fusion and support endosomal escape in nucleic acid delivery systems. Manufactured using highly purified fatty acids, MC-8181 offers consistent quality for pharmaceutical research and clinical applications.
