COATSOME® MC-8080 (DSPC)

COATSOME MC-8080 (DSPC), or 1,2-Distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, is a ≥99% pure synthetic phospholipid. Composed of C18:0 fatty acids (18 carbon atoms, no double bonds, stearic acid) at both the sn-1 and sn-2 positions, DSPC provides high membrane rigidity and stability, making it highly suitable for liposomal and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations that demand robust structural integrity.
With a phase transition temperature (Tc) of approximately 56°C, DSPC maintains a gel phase at physiological and ambient temperatures, offering exceptional physical stability for advanced drug delivery systems. Notably, DSPC has been utilized as a critical component in the lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations of approved COVID-19 mRNA vaccines.
